Our Story

We met on May 2, 2023, in the most unexpected of places—a Wawa gas station—where Donny invited me to grab a snack before heading to the airport park to watch airplanes. While there, the story began. We enjoyed a sunset, snacks and airplanes all while chatting about life. While we were ultimately kicked out at sunset, the night didn’t end there and neither did our story. At the time, we ended up at Drive Shack, where I impressed Donny with my unexpectedly solid golf swing. But Donny left the night impressed with more than just the golf, but also in the girl. It marked the start of something special.

From the beginning, Donny brought creativity to every date. He had a running list of ideas in his phone—anything but “just getting a drink.” He knew right away that he would have to put in some serious effort to win over a woman like Lindsey. We did cooking classes, played endless board games, built pillow forts on rainy days, and even had a DIY field day where we competed for who’d buy dinner. Through each adventure, we built a relationship rooted in fun, intention, and a genuine connection. While Donny knew early on that Lindsey was special, it took a little longer for Lindsey to be won over. To this day, Donny acknowledges that he’s lucky Lindsey didn’t dump him. An acknowledgement that is rooted in a funny story and a little bit of truth.

Fast forward to today, the fun continues, and the love continues to grow. We have a very busy social calendar, occasionally to Lindsey’s chagrin, filled with many activities, fun and travel. All at each others side. We often joke that we’re “overdue for a trip” when it’s been over a month or so. Through all this we’ve embraced each other’s friends and families as our own and feel incredibly lucky to be building a life—and a community—filled with love, laughter, trust, support, and meaningful memories. Together.
